Binance Coin ($BNB), native coin of Binance exchange, is emerging as one of the best performing high-cap altcoins. Today, $BNB has recorded its latest all-time high (ATH) price of $1,220, as per data taken from CoinMarketCap. This is the 5th all-time high of Binance Coin in the last 43 days. During these 43 days, it is up 35.86%. This shows that the coin is on an ATH streak due to high demand and improved scalability. The new Bitcoin all-time high recorded yesterday has also provided BNB some push.

$BNB Records 5 Back-to-Back ATHs
Binance Coin recorded first all-time high (ATH) of this streak on 23rd of August 2025 touching $900. However, the party started in mid-September when BNB recorded 2 back-to-back ATHs in 3 days. On 16th of September, $BNB touched $950. Two days later, on 18th of September, it recorded its first 4-digit ATH of $1,000. On 3rd of October, BNB recorded $1,100, the 4th ATH of this streak.
The fifth all-time high of BNB has been recorded today at $1,220 on the back of a 15% increase in trading volume (4.43 billion now). It is up 4.3% today and has delivered 2x returns since April 7 2025. The market capitalization of the coin has reached $169.28 billion.
Catalysts Behind Binance Coin’s Tremendous Performance
There are two major driving forces behind the ongoing surge of Binance Coin. The first one is the Maxwell hardfork of BNB Chain. This hardfork upgrade was activated on the mainnet on 30th of June 2025. It is noteworthy that $BNB has recorded all the above mentioned 5 all-time highs after this upgrade. This hardfork has made the chain more scalable by halving the block production time from 1.5 seconds to 0.8 seconds.
The second major reason behind BNB pump is the scarcity of the coin. On one hand, its supply is being reduced with period token burns while on the other hand institutions are buying BNB creating scarcity. Most recently, 1,595,599.78 $BNB coins were burned on 10th of July 2025 during the 32nd quarterly BNB burn. Coming towards the institutional buying, many firms and countries are adding BNB to their reserves and wealth funds. The most recent instance, as shared by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao in his tweet, Kazakhstan is buying BNB for its national reserve.
